• MEET YOUR OFFICIANT AHEAD OF TIME
It seems a lot of folks these days are outsourcing their officiant duties; with ceremonies getting shorter and shorter, it’s not all that surprising really. Just make sure you meet ahead of time and get on the same page. Ask to review the script and make sure you feel comfortable with them!

  • KEEP YOUR CEREMONY CLOSE TO THE RECEPTION
Want to make your life easier? If you’re able to and the reception venue has the capacity to accomadate, consider having your ceremony at the same location. If not, pick a location relatively close – your guests will thank you later!

  • HAVE A BACKUP PLAN
A lot of ceremonies are held outside, especially in the summer months, but be prepared for inclement weather. What’s the plan if it rains? Or in Ohio…what happens if goes from 75 and sunny to 30 and snowing? Have a plan!
  • DON’T RUSH YOURSELF
Here’s the deal; it’s your big day. Make sure you have plenty of time to get ready to roll. This may apply more to the grooms since most brides are well aware of the prepwork! But dudes…don’t wait till the last minute to throw your suit on. Trust us…
  • MAKE SURE YOUR GUESTS CAN HEAR
Did you hire a DJ (It better be us)? Ask them if they will cover your ceremony music and provide sound and mics if needed. Most pros will certainly have the capability (or they should) to cover your ceremony sound. It may be an extra charge, but it’s worth it.
