2019 Year In Review

Eric and Krista
Wedding – DJ

It was a hot one, but a fun one to kick off wedding season 2019! Eric and Krista were so fun and laid back and Grey Hawk Golf Course was a fantastic venue to DJ all night.

Getting to officiate my brother’s wedding and then DJ the night as well was a true honor. Plus it was nice to escape to Madison, WI for the weekend! P.S. Autumn with Autumn Silva Photography did an insane job on the photographs; check her out!

Colin and Chloe
Wedding – DJ

This was one of my favorite venues of the year – Brother’s Drake in Columbus, OH. Colin and Chloe were so much fun and their MOH/Planner Christi was a total pleasure to work with. Also, shoutout to Emma Parker – if you need a photog in the Columbus area, I highly recommend her!

Dave and Angie
Wedding – DJ

My hometown, the fairgrounds, and tons of people I went to highschool with – it was a nostalgic night for sure. Angie and Dave and their guests partied hard, despite the massive storm that rolled in to start the evening!

Jonathon and Meagan
Wedding – Officiant

My first event of a two event Saturday, this one was a simple yet elegant ceremony. Had the pleasure of working with Scott and his team over at Sound Precision Entertainment (excellent DJ services and great all-around people). Jonathon and Meagan were wonderful to work with and Williams on the Lake in Medina was just gorgeous for the ceremony.

Jeff and Jean
Wedding – DJ

The Hotel at Oberlin, the second event of the day for me, and my parents in attendance – just a fun evening! If you get a chance, check this venue out – the large window wall really makes the space special. 60’s and 70’s jams all night…I was in music heaven! Bonus: I got to work with (again) my good friend Marcee Mauer while she photographed the night.

Colin and Becky
Wedding – Officiant/Live Music (Ceremony & Cocktail Hour)

This was another officiant/cocktail hour event for me over at Buffalo Creek in Medina, OH. I’ve known Becky for years from playing in a worship band together, so it was a real honor to officiate and perform for her and Colin and their guests.

Once again at The Hotel at Oberlin, I got to DJ and party with my good friends all night long. We were even treated to a karaoke version of “Graduate” by Third Eye Blind by one of my favorite piano students, Molly!

Andrew and Danielle
Wedding – Officiant

What a beautiful couple! I married them on their farm in Mogadore, OH with rolling hills in the background. Simple, emotional and beautiful. Certainly, a memorable ceremony for me!

Chris and Randie
Private Party – DJ

Definitely a highlight of the summer! Working with Chris and Randi at their beautiful home was a real treat. It was hot but we partied like it was 1999 all over again! Biggie, Tupac, Bone, Warren G…Regulators, MOUNT UP!

Darren and Nicole
Wedding – DJ/Officiant

A combo gig for me (Officiant and DJ), The Lodge at Allerdale was a perfect spot for these two and their guests. Beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by off the chain dancing indoors, all night long. I rarely drink at a reception, but these two wouldn’t budge until I did a shot with them…I guess there’s an exception to every rule!

Viktor and Ann
Wedding – DJ

If you get a chance to visit the Lantern Court Estate at Holden Arboretum, do it. Amazing venue for a ceremony and reception. This one was special since half of the guests had flown in from Sweden for the day – I certainly played a lot of Avicii and Abba all night! Props to one of my favorite photogs as well – Rhiannon Benton – we had a great time that night!

Max and Serena
Wedding – DJ

Not sure what to say about this night other than it was OFF THE FREAKIN CHAIN. Max and Serena are the nicest, hippest people I’ve ever worked with, their venue (Rood Food and Pie in Lakewood) was INSANELY cool, and their guest know how to party. I could’ve stayed all night!

Andy and Josh
Wedding – DJ

Two of the sweetest, kindest gents I’ve ever met, Andy and Josh put together the perfect day for their Elyria wedding. A backyard, tent affair (a massive tent I might add) the day was perfect – beautiful weather, wonderful food (thanks to Old Carolina Barbecue) and amazing guests.

Heath and Nicki
Wedding – DJ

Rolling hills, horses running in the background…Heartland on Heritage is THE rustic venue. Heath and Nicki were very easy to work with, Robert Algarin and his photography team were fantastic, and the venue was one of the easiest load-in/load-outs I’ve ever had as a DJ.

Michael and Jennie
Wedding – DJ/Officiant

Fun fact about these two – I used to coach Jennie’s son in baseball back in the day. This was another combo event; officiate and then DJ for the evening. Quailcrest Farms in Wooster, OH was the venue, and they have the perfect little spot for a ceremony right across the parking lot. Mission Barbecue provided the food and I couldn’t recommend them or their service enough!

Kyle and Aubrie
Wedding – DJ/Officiant

These two were just darling to work with – Aubrie may have been the most giddy bride I’ve ever met with prior to their ceremony. I also truly believe should go into the wedding planning biz – she had binders with everything a vendor needed, ready to roll for us when we arrived! Buchwalter Greenhouse was an awesome venue and Benjamin Britton Photography were super pro and great to work with as well.

Eric and Megan
Wedding – Officiant

This ceremony at Mohican Gardens almost had me in tears it was so sweet; Eric and Megan really were just made for each other. Shout out to my man DJ Sobe and my girl Stef from Maids of Honor Events for making the day memorable for everyone!

Aaron and Kim
Wedding – DJ

This one was a first for me – a reception in a horse racing barn. However, the word barn doesn’t quite do it justice; this thing was massive! Kim and Aaron knew how to party and their guests didn’t disappoint either.

John and Sara
Wedding – Day of Coordinator/DJ

Some of the best music of the year, hands down. As a fellow musician, I could really appreciate John and Sara’s choices for their ceremony, as well as the cocktail hour and reception. North Park Lodge in Pittsburgh was an interesting venue from a DJ perspective but we pulled it off.

Steve and Hayley

I can’t say enough good things about Steve and Hayley – they were just an awesome couple. Century Farms in Carrollton, OH was beautiful and their staff was kind and easy to work with. Ellie their photographer was such a pro and I couldn’t recommend her enough!

Hydrocephalus Association Annual Walk
Corporate Event – DJ

Sometimes you just do events and feel like you are home – this was one of those times. I’ve known Roslyn and her family for years so it was a real pleasure to get to work with her at an event for a cause that she’s so passionate about. Ned and Liz

First off, Brookside Country Club is stunning, and the staff were amazing. Ned, Liz and their crew knew how to throw down – the dancing was tip top all night long!

Daniel and Morgan
Wedding – DJ

This ceremony and reception were held at Noah’s Event Center in Mentor, OH. Morgan looked just stunning in her dress and Daniel was ever the gentleman. From the walk down the aisle to the last dance, it was just a beautiful and well put together evening.

244^th Annual Marine Corps Ball
Private Event – DJ

So, who knew, Marines like to party…Sgt. Chaz Lewis and his crew were a total blast and it was such an honor to be a part of such a special night. Highlight: Seeing them honor 2 highly decorated WWII veterans in attendance.

Tre and Sara
Elopement – Officiant

Who doesn’t like sneaking off into the woods for a quick elopement? I’ve known Sara for years and was so excited to be a part of her and Tre’s big day. Short, simple and to the point, these two knew exactly what they wanted!

Steve and Jen
Wedding – DJ

The last wedding of the year for me – in roaring 20’s style! Ceremony at the Massillon Women’s Club (shockingly gorgeous venue) followed by the reception at The Courtyard by Marriott in North Canton (as for Oliva, she’s the best!). Great way to end the year…and the decade!

Ronald McDonald House Cleveland
Private Event – DJ

Ronald McDonald House is an organization that is near and dear to my heart – you can head over to my personal website (www.tysonstiles.com) to read more about it. Ending my year by DJing their New Year’s Eve Party was so special and such a full circle moment for me; I’ve come a long way since the first time I walked into that place and I couldn’t have found a better way to close out the decade. Next time you’re in the McDonalds drive thru, I would encourage you to toss your change in the donation box – it’s a fantastic charity that really cares about families and keeping them together during the most difficult of times.

It’s safe to say…it was a good year. Thanks to anyone and everyone I worked with in 2019 – you were all such a pleasure and I can’t wait to do it again in 2020! If you need a DJ, an Officiant, a Wedding Planner or some Live Acoustic Music, please contact me!
